Ancestral Atacama Route

In the Gorge of Zapar, Toconao, 30 minutes from San Pedro de Atacama. This trekking of about 3 hours immerses us in the culture and agropastoral history of an Atacamenian family. In a landscape full of contrasts between volcanic rocks, majestic dunes and the greenery of the vegetation that makes its way along a river, we will be part of the almost lost tradition of taking the llamas to feed in a meadow inside the gorge. At the end of the hike, we will visit part of the ruins of a Pukará, an old indigenous cemetery and fortress, where valuable archaeological remains can still be seen. We finish this trek with a tasting of beverages and typical local products.
